Akiko Shikata - Turaida (Album Review + Bonus Disc)

Hey yo! Finally doing a real album review this time, you know, out of boredom, and since the CD just came today (no I don't cheat with new Shikata releases; I wait for the order before listening, not even the previews).

About the Album

First off, Turaida is Akiko Shikata's 4th album, in which also ends in 'a' - Shikata even noticed this, as all her albums are the same: Navigatoria (1st), Raka (2nd) and Haromnia (3rd) (but unfortunately I only have Harmonia and Turaida, and Laylania is actually an EP). Much like her other releases, it contains full versions of songs she's done for various games, anime, and miscellaneous indie stuff.

Why I Rarely Do Collaborations or Requests

Okay so first thing's first, I've done a lot of collaborations before but I've usually left them in the dust or not mentioning them anymore to avoid misunderstandings or just bad memories and stuff. Here are the reasons why I rarely collaborate with people or do requests, whether in music, arts or anything else:

1. To avoid misunderstandings. No, this does not mean I have a strict boyfriend - my bf is perfectly normal, it's just that I have this really bad habit of getting too hyped or attached to a new person so as much as possible I don't, even women (sorry girls). Let's just say I like keeping distance after a lot of bad memories with past online friends and acquaintances.

2. To avoid people who will take advantage of my skills. Most people I've collaborated in the past only depend on my skills and if they think my work is ugly then they'll hire new and better people for it. Some only ask for my help and then suddenly disappears. Some don't even credit me and some repeatedly make me do work for free. Look people, I AM NOT A RICH PERSON NOR A SUPERWOMAN. I'm just a small freelancer with a normal family with a monthly income of almost below 10k pesos and the things we earn from our sideline jobs (computer projects) are just little things (in fact, we even give a lot of discounts and some are for free). Look, I'd like to make collabs with new people but I'm tired of these things possibly happening to me again. I can write tutorials and such on my other blog but that's it, okay?

Carrie is not really Scarrie (Movie Review)

Okay first of all this is probably going to be a long (and personal) post and may contain spoilers (be warned!) so if you haven't seen the movie (nor read the novel or saw the musical) then don't get spoiled here.

Unlike most horror films (I don't really watch that much horror because uhm, I can't, I just can't lol I'm so chicken), Carrie isn't exactly a horror film but more of a teen drama with a touch of supernatural and gore things. It's a remake of a 1970 novel of the same name by Stephen King and had been remaked into many movies and a musical, and this is the 2013 version.

Social Media Sensitivity

The title is pretty much self-explanatory.

A forewarning though, this is not directed towards any person, this is just my point of view with how things are going on around the world today.

Scenarios such as obsessed fans who will defend the honor, image and dignity of their idol artist, singer, personality, Internet celebrity, actor/actress, beauty queen, model, politician(?), TV host, teen star, or whoever whatever, are super common nowadays. The obvious result: one little basher gets bombarded (some say bullied) with hate messages and stuff that he or she becomes depressed in real life.

The worst part of this is that, some people who end up that way might result to suicide if not counseled properly.
